Infrastructure Architect - 3086

Description

Canberra based Federal Govt Agency is offering an excellent opportunity for a Infrastructure Architect with extensive experience across ICT Infrastructure projects, cloud services and cyber security.

Successful candidate will work with a Senior Project Manager, a Project Support Officer, an Infrastructure Architect, a Cloud Engineer, and a SharePoint Developer. The team will work closely with members of the Digital Services Branch and other business areas within the agency if and when required.


The IA will:

  • Participate in the Agency’s Architecture Reference Group (ARG) as the infrastructure architecture subject matter expert.
  • Be responsible for producing technical design documentation on behalf of the project team, and presentation to ARG for approval.
  • Have a sound understanding of the Australian Government PSPF and ISM, and demonstrated experience in applying this guidance within Protected Government environments (including Cloud).
  • Working from Agency premises, the IA will be expected to contribute to the project team and assist delivery of the following outcomes:
    • Microsoft Office 365 & Dynamics 365
      • Establish the Agency’s Microsoft Office 365 (Protected) and Dynamics 365 (Unclassified) platforms and connectivity;
      • Establish cloud governance framework to manage consumption and billing;
      • Migration of Exchange, CRM and SharePoint to the new platforms by December 2019;
      • Establish and implement a timeline for the iterative release of Office 365 capability to Agency staff;
      • Assess and establish the disaster recovery and business continuity requirements for these services; and
      • Integrate these services with established security incident and event logging (SIEM) systems and processes.
    • Managed Services Approach To Market
      • Contribute to evaluation of market submissions;
      • Project manage activities associated with transition to the new service;
      • Facilitate coordination between the incumbent and incoming service providers;
      • Manage risks and impacts to the Agency of transitional activities;
      • Provide coordination for potential establishment of an in-house service desk capability; and
      • Provide coordination for potential establishment of an in-house platform support team.
    • Migration of REC Registry
      • Deliver migration of the REC Registry system onto the new platform by May 2020.
    • Cyber Security Works Program
      • Project manage the delivery of an 18 month cyber security works program including SIEM reporting and dashboards, enterprise security architecture, security assessment tools gateway service enhancement, role based access control, firewall audit, implementation of ACSC recommendations.
  • Expected to have extensive experience with the design and implementation of technologies including (but not limited to):
    • Active Directory – Directory Services, Federation Services, Certificate Services
    • Microsoft Exchange 2013, Microsoft Exchange Online
    • Microsoft SQL 2012, 2016 and SQL MI
    • Microsoft Office 365 E5
    • Microsoft Azure (including enterprise scaffold)
    • Networking (including firewalls and load balancing)

Main skills and experience

  • Providing technical delivery of ICT environment migration projects.
  • With technical delivery of Protected cloud services and capabiltites to agencies and their end users.
  • With technical expertise with technologies such as Active Directory Directory Services, Federation Services, Certificate Services, Microsoft Exchange 2013 & Online, Microsoft SQL 2012/2016 & SQL MI, Microsoft Office 365 E5
  • In contributing to IT architecture boards as an Infrastructure Architect.
  • Providing technical support to cyber security works programs.
  • With technical expertise with technologies such as Microsoft Azure (including enterprise scaffold), networking (including firewalls and load balancing).

Nice-to-have skills and experience

  • With establishment of cloud governance frameworks.

For you to qualify

  • Australian Citizen.
  • Possess a Security Clearance at a minimum leve l of Baseline prior to start of employment.
  • Amenable for an initial 12 month contract (from 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2020) and with an option to extend to another 12-24 months.
  • Willing to work full time and on site in Canberra ACT office.
