Analyst (APS6 & EL1) – Canberra

A Federal Gov’t client is seeking to identify suitable Candidates to perform the role of Systems Analysts and SAP Functional Consultants to support the agency to document business requirements, capture business needs, and design, create, evaluate, and document ICT solutions in new and existing ICT systems.

Systems Analysts are responsible for translating business needs into ICT system requirements and specifications for enhancements. They may propose modifications to the existing systems and processes, or design new systems to meet user needs asexpressed in requirements documentation or user stories. This includes designing, analysing and documenting software systems to meet business expectations. Systems Analysts are responsible for writing functional specifications from business requirements.

SAP Functional Consultants are responsible for the design and configuration of SAP Systems. They translate business needs into ICT system requirements and specifications for enhancements. It includes designing, analysing and documenting software systems to meet business expectations. They are responsible for writing functional specifications from the business requirements.

SAP Functional Consultants promote and deliver flexible, quality service and products to improve customer experience, work under the limited direction of senior staff to deliver results and undertake complex work. SAP Functional Consultants make ethical, evidence-based decisions using sound judgement, anticipate and respond to stakeholder needs and expectations, and may manage a team.

Location of work Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne. Client will consider alternate work locations and arrangements on a case by case basis

Security Clearance Required Must be Australian Citizen. The level of Security Clearance required for a Role will be confirmed at the time of Contract.

Senior Systems Analyst APS6

Main Duties may include, but not limited to, some or all of the following:

  • perform detailed analysis and evaluation of business processes and requirements
  • create solution designs and documentation to implement solutions to meet business needs
  • support daily operations and monitor performance of business solutions
  • adhere to delivery and support methodologies and contribute ideas for improvement
  • perform detailed technical application assessments considering feasibility, resource effort, risks, and benefits
  • conduct testing activities such as test planning, execution coverage reviews and defect management
  • collaborate with stakeholders to define tasks, resolve issues, solve problems, and ensure effective and timely implementation of projects
  • undertake project quality management tasks such as peer and quality reviews of specifications, design, and testing documents
  • review research, process models and documentation of other staff, providing guidance and feedback
  • resolve or escalate issues as required and suggest alternative approaches and solutions
  • perform cost analysis activities as required
  • manage the life cycle of changes and improvements to systems set priorities, manage resources, and assist with thedevelopment of work plans

Solution Design Analyst EL1

Main Duties may include, but not limited to, some or all of the following:

  • lead and support operations of the team, including monitoring business performance, setting priorities, and managing resources and workflow
  • oversee the development and implementation of the ICT solution
  • highlight and identify gaps in existing functionality and functional interdependencies
  • undertake and contribute to business management, strategic planning, and workforce planning
  • manage team contribution to the costing process and ensure project deliverables and milestones are met on time and within budget
  • report on the achievement of business outcomes, key performance indicators and quality assurance to manage overall performance
  • monitor and manage work output and quality against established performance standards through interpretation of quality analysis and reporting
  • encourage innovation, continuous improvement and manage and support change
  • build action plans and make operational decisions on policies, tactics and resources critical to the business
  • prepare and review a range of written material including technical and corporate documentation collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve project outcomes, build service delivery capability, and influence business outcomes

SAP Functional Consultant EL1

Main Duties may include, but not limited to, some or all of the following:

  • responsible for the design and configuration of SAP systems
  • lead and support operations of the team, including monitoring business performance, setting priorities and managing resources and workflow
  • lead and manage staff, including overseeing the management of performance, attendance and health and wellbeing
  • develop staff capability through coaching, mentoring and succession planning to increase performance, engagement and retention
  • oversee the development and implementation of the ICT solution
  • highlight and identify gaps in existing functionality
  • highlight and identify functional interdependencies
  • undertake and contribute to business management, strategic planning and workforce planning
  • assist with the management of finances, contracts, procurement, resources and expenditure within area of responsibility
  • ensure project deliverables and milestones are met on time and within budget
  • prepare and review a range of written material including technical and corporate documentation.
