The Opportunity

Excellent opportunity for (2) Junior and (2) Senior Data & Software Developers. Join a Surry Hills based Federal Government Agency Data Services team, who have been working hard to deliver both a state of the art Analytics Platform and Enterprise Data Warehouse.

Over the next 12 months, the team will:

• Implement a new Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and Analytics Platform
• Deliver a variety of data services that range from web services to analytical datasets,
• Build capabilities to identify and treat data quality issues
• Integrate new testing and devops capabilities.
• Leverage the automation assets that have delivered to utilize the value of the organization
• Enable a fail fast methodology across our Branch to shorten the feedback loop and increase the delivery cadence

For you to qualify

• Australian citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Able to work full time and on site in Surry Hills NSW.
• Estimate start of employment on 4th of November 2019.
• Contract engagement for the next 12 months.

Your main skills and experience

• Divers development skills – Understand the automation in various phases of the SDLC lifecycle: planning, designing, development, testing, deployment, release.
• Software development experience, leverage techniques used in development practices.
• RDBMS experience a must (Teradata and SAS ideal).
• Python or Groovy experience a bonus.
• Passionate for technology – work in state-of-the-art data platform that has the potential to impact the lives of many Australians.
• Have worked in a data-driven organization
• Agile way of working, and flexible to work in a number of roles

Desirable skills & experience

• Business analysis background – to gather and document requirements and designs.
• In ETL/Data warehousing.
• In other forms of development or full stack
• SAS, Teradata, Python, RStudio
• VMWare, Linux and Windows
• Webservers: NGINX
• Atlassian suite (on-prem): JIRA, Bamboo, Bitbucket, Confluence, Crucible, Fisheye
• Frameworks: Django, React, Selenium, NodeJS
• Configuration Management: Ansible
• Testing Tools: XRAY, Fitiness, DBFIT, jUnit, ngUnit, Selenium
