Program Management Office Director - 4566

Description

The Director, Program Management Office (PMO) is responsible for the Digital Program/project management function, providing leadership, integration and management of the delivery processes and functions to improve the consistency and efficiency of the Branch’s delivery.

The PMO Director will join a team of policy, data and engagement specialists focused on completing the Digital Transformation and supporting the Digital Strategy and Capability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, plan and track disciplines in an Agile environment.
  • Supporting Division wide delivery.
  • Managing Procurement Reforms Steering Committees.
  • Maintain Management frameworks to monitor and report on inflight Reform initiatives.
Requirements

For you to qualify

  • Australian Citizen
  • With a current baseline security clearance
  • Estimate start on the 29th October 2019
  • Contract employment for 6 months with an option to extend for another 6 months
  • Willing to work in Sydney and Canberra office

Your main skills and experience

  • Experience/knowledge of Digital Sourcing Frameworks and Policies and Commonwealth Procurement Rules
  • Experience in delivering government reform programs/projects. Knowledge and understanding in the delivery of education programs.
  • Manage interdependencies and coordination across projects to ensure that information relating to project deliverables, risks and issues are effectively communicated between stakeholders.
  • Tracking of key performance indicators ensuring they are monitored and evaluated. Understand the links between the branch and the whole-of-government agenda monitoring progress of initiatives and make necessary adjustments Undertake planning to transition the branch through change initiatives and evaluate progress and outcome to inform future planning
  • Oversee quality assurance practices and associated internal/external audits. Monitor and maintain business unit knowledge of and compliance with legislative and regulatory frameworks Experience working across government programs, projects, initiatives in Agile environments
  • In depth understanding of all roles associated to Program Delivery and the establishment of Program delivery teams. Experience and understanding of Program Office Management roles and the establishment of PMOs.
  • Model the highest standards of ethical behavior and reinforce them in others. Represent the branch in an honest, ethical and professional way and set an example for others to follow. Promote a culture of integrity and professionalism within the branch and in dealings external to government.
